Hey, I'm Andrea.
I'm obsessed with two things: making pottery and growing shit. My work is designed to help you cook, eat, and grow plants better.
What I Make
My ceramics are bright, textured, and functional. My kitchen pieces are built for real cooking - citrus juicers you'll want to leave out on display, mugs that fit perfectly in your hands, serving dishes that make even leftovers look elegant. There are also cacti incense burners and planters - the planters are made for people who aspire to kill fewer plants and people who have jungle houses alike.
The Process
My process involves both hand-building and wheel throwing, depending on what mood the clay and I are in. I often work in series - throwing 6 large bowls or 8 mugs at a time. I love the variation that comes from working this way.
Clay body choices come from my gut and past experience. I know which clays work well with my favorite glaze combinations, what textures I'm after, how I want the clay to peek through when glaze breaks. Glaze decisions happen as I'm glazing, not until a piece has successfully survived a bisque firing. Each piece gets glazed based on how different glazes will interact with that specific clay body.
My Philosophy
Every piece is unique because I work intuitively. No rulers, no perfect measurements, just what feels right in the moment. My motto is 'detach yourself from the outcome' because pottery can break or fail anytime. I make decisions as I go instead of planning everything out. That means your mug will be different from your friend's, and honestly, that's the whole point.
This is pottery for people who actually live in their spaces. Bright colors, interesting textures, built to be used daily and loved hard.
Come find me at Austin markets - I love talking shop about pottery, plants, and whatever else.
